JFL Week 1 round-up

Matchday 1 of the 2013 JFL season took place over the weekend, with one result standing out amongst the games.

Machida Zelvia, a team tipped by many to be champions this year, started in inauspicious fashion as they were beaten by JFL newcomers Fukushima United 1-0 at home. Takashi Kamoshida’s early goal was enough to see off Zelvia, who will hope to get back on track against Sagamihara next Saturday. Sagamihara, also newcomers to the JFL, were beaten on their debut by AC Nagano Parceiro. A late late goal from Yuki Sato was enough to separate the the sides.

Kamatamare Sanuki opened the season by beating Tochigi UVA 1-0 while Y.S.C.C. started life post Masao Tsuji by recording a 2-1 against HOYO Oita. Two teams who recently gained J.League associate memberships were both on the wrong end of 3-0 scorelines. Zweigen Kanazawa were beaten by Sagawa Printing and Blaublitz Akita were easily swept aside by MIO Biwako Shiga.

Do you know if Kerlon played for Fujieda or not?

Yes, Kerlon started for Fujieda. He has been given the number 10 shirt this year, so expect him to try and play a major role for the club. However, in this game Fujieda were comprehensively outplayed by Yokogawa.
