FC Gifu forward Taira Inoue will be out for about 2 to 3 weeks after suffering a knee injury in last Sunday’s game against Thespakusatsu Gunma. Inoue was felled by a strong Thespa challenge around 15 minutes into the 2nd half, and there were fears of a serious injury initially as lay prone on the floor. Luckily he could make his way back to the bench on his own, although he wasn’t moving very well.
Today the club revealed that he has damaged some ligaments in his knee and will need treatment & rest. He will definitely miss Gifu’s trip to Ehime on Wednesday as well as the visit of Tokushima Vortis on Sunday and most probably the following week’s trip to Tokyo Verdy. The earliest I expect him back is for the April 7th clash with Kyoto Sanga at the Nagaragawa.
Anyone of Sugimoto, Nakashima, Fabio & Lemos are in line to replace Inoue for the next two weeks.
