Goalless, winless but not pointless, FC Gifu head to Matsuyama in Shikoku to face Ehime FC.
The main injury news from Gifu comes in the form of Taira Inoue’s knee injury sustained on Sunday. He will miss this game so Gyotoku has a big choice to make as to who steps in. The choice would appear to be between Hiroyuki Sugimoto, Kohei Nakashima or Fabio. Whoever gets chosen needs to be a threat. Also up in the air is the place of Arata Sugiyama. He played in front of the back four against Gunma, but looked a little lost to be honest. It wouldn’t surprise me if he dropped out.
Ehime opened the season by beating Montedio Yamagata, then drawing at home to Matsumoto Yamaga. On Sunday they lost their first away game, going down 1-0 at Kataller Toyama. Kengo Ishii has scored in both games at the Ningineer Stadium this year and Ehime are unbeaten in their last 7 home games stretching back to last season.
When the two teams met last year, both games ended in draws: 0-0 in Ehime and 1-1 in Gifu.
