Home wins, away wins, thunderstorms and plenty of goals……must be week 5 in the JFL.
Pacesetters AC Nagano Parceiro kept up their 100% record on Saturday afternoon after beating Zweigen Kanazawa 2-1 in Nagano. A goal in either half from strikers Unozawa & Matsuo was enough to see off the challenge of the Ishikawa team despite Zweigen halving the arrears with ten minutes to go. In the other Saturday games Kerlon scored his second in two games to help lift Fujieda MYFC to an away win over Y.S.C.C. and the game between Sagawa Printing and Yokogawa Musashino ended in a 1-1 stalemate at Nishikyogoku.
Sunday’s big game saw Kamatamare Sanuki move into second place in the table after their 1-0 win against Blaublitz Akita in Marugame, Kagawa Prefecture. Tomoya Osawa’s second half goal proved to be the difference between the teams and earned Sanuki their fourth 1-0 win of the season. In fact, all of their results have been 1-0 (4 wins & 1 defeat). MIO Biwako Shiga gave FC Ryukyu an old-fashioned beating in Koga as they stuck four goals on the previously high-flying Okinawa side. Shunta Takahashi (who else?) actually opened the scoring for Ryukyu but on this day he was outshined by MIO’s Shingo Kinoshita who grabbed a brace to go along with goals from Yarita & Watanabe.
In a game briefly halted by a strong thunderstorm Fukushima United were surprisingly beaten at home by lowly Tochigi Uva. Defenders Kurihara & Kawasato were the scorers for the away side and the win, Uva’s first of the season, lifts them into 14th place. Sony Sendai quietly moved into third after their win at Honda FC in Hamamatsu. Goshi Okubo scored Sony’s goal and the win puts them above Akita & Sagamihara on goal difference. SC Sagamihara themselves won on Sunday as they edged out bottom club Honda Lock 2-1. Finally, Sagamihara’s near neighbours Machida Zelvia recorded an important, morale boosting victory as they narrowly beat struggling HOYO Oita at Nozuta.
