A couple of big games headline this weekend’s festivities in the Japanese third tier. Once again, the weekend is split over Saturday, when there are four games, and the remaining games will be played on Sunday.
On Saturday, leaders AC Nagano Parceiro head further north to the Yurtec Stadium to face mid-table Sony Sendai. Nagano lost their 100% record last week after being held by Akita so they will be looking to re-assert themselves on the division. Yuji Unozawa is in fine form for the pacesetters. Y.S.C.C., presumably in great spirits after their 5-0 demolition of Yokogawa, will be the latest team to try and stop Shunta Takahashi and the rest of his FC Ryukyu cohorts. The Okinawa side are also coming off a win last week. There is a bit of a Kansai derby when MIO Biwako Shiga make the relatively short trip to Kyoto to face Sagawa Printing. Machida Zelvia, slowing getting their act together after a poor start, welcome Blaublitz Akita to Nozuta on the back of two wins that have propelled them into the top four. Akita, as mentioned before, stopped Nagano’s 100% record last week, but this is a very difficult game to follow up.
On Sunday, 2nd placed Kamatamare Sanuki host Kerlon, Alan and Fujieda MYFC knowing that a win will definitely allow them to keep pace with the leaders. Honda FC will welcome a Yokogawa Musashino side that were humbled by no less than five second half goals last week as they were beaten 5-0 by Y.S.C.C.. Honda did well to draw 3-3 in the Shizuoka derby last weekend. Honda Lock go in search of their first win when they head to face a Fukushima United side that have stalled after a fast start. Fukushima will look to get back on track after last week’s defeat in Shiga against MIO. Third placed SC Sagamihara travel to third bottom Zweigen Kanazawa looking to continue their recent run of form which has seen them win the last four games. Zweigen meanwhile need to start playing soon. Finally, two teams near the bottom meet in north Kanto when Tochigi Uva welcome HOYO Oita to town.
