FC Gifu will have to do without the services of forward Kohei Nakashima for at least the next 6 weeks after the striker suffered a knee injury in last weekend’s defeat at Tochigi SC.

Despite Taira Inoue also being out, Gifu can cover this injury at the moment as Hiroyuki Sugimoto is back fit and they can always call on Fabio or Lemos to step in if(!) Hiroki Higuchi needs support. It is a shame for Nakashima as he scored his first professional goal against Kataller Toyama last week and, while not being the answer to Gifu’s scoring problems, he was beginning to look like he might be settling into this team. Hopefully they don’t rush him back, we certainly don’t need another striker out for the season.
