Still seems a bit weird to have these two teams in the same league, but they kick off in a Friday night game (which is in about 5 hours from now).
Gifu have some major injury concerns heading into their clash at Banpaku. The injury list includes Desmond, Ri Han Jae, Shun Nogaito & Kohei Nakashima added to long-termers Jinushizono & Taira Inoue. I’m finding it very difficult to think what kind of team Gifu will field, I think Moriyasu will start but I still don’t know if they will go with Sugimoto & Higuchi up top again.
Gamba are unbeaten so far, but have been underwhelming at home – drawing far too many games, including last week against Gainare Tottori. They should win this game, but one thing that could count against them is that they face Vissel Kobe on Monday in the marquee clash of the season and so could be distracted. For the hosts, Leandro is starting to find his shooting boots, Sho Kurata is playing really well and whenever you can call upon Yasuhito Endo & Yasuyuki Konno then you have a pretty decent squad.
Gifu will have it all on to get anything from this trip to Osaka.
