I’m going to put a claim in on this hashtag and start to look at the games affecting the bottom of J2.
FC Gifu v Giravanz Kitakyushu – please see my game preview elsewhere on this site
Thespa Kusatsu Gunma v Consadole Sapporo – fresh off beating bottom placed Gifu, Consa take on second bottom Gunma. Sapporo have quietly sneaked up into the top 10 and are only 3 points off the play-offs. Gunma will be buoyed after their excellent win at Roasso last week. Both teams will feel that this is a crucial game, and that should make it exciting.
Kataller Toyama v Fagiano Okayama – Kataller have been in free-fall but face a Fagiano side that have themselves fallen off the pace in recent weeks. Kataller have been hit by the injury bug, losing several key players – the latest being beanpole striker Yudai Nishikawa. I can quite easily see this ending in a draw.
Ehime FC v Gainare Tottori – Speaking of teams in bad form, Gainare have been turned over, at home, by Gifu & Kitakyushu in their last two games. They have taken their rightful place deep in the relegation mire and face a difficult trip to Shikoku on Saturday. Ehime themselves are only 2 points ahead of Gainare but know a win will give them ample breathing space just above the relegation dogfight.
