Not a very nice weekend for the teams down at the bottom. But then, it rarely should be.

Kyoto Sanga 2-0 FC Gifu

An easy win for the hosts, and it could quite easily have been a lot more than two goals. The defeat leaves Gifu anchored to the bottom of the table.

Thespa Kusatsu Gunma 0-1 Mito Hollyhock

North Kanto bragging rights go to Mito as Daisuke Tomita’s second half strike was enough to condemn Thespa to yet another defeat.

Giravanz Kitakyushu 0-2 Tokushima Vortis

Things are rapidly going pear-shaped for the Sunflower club who suffered their third reverse of the week. Vortis forward Tomohiro Tsuda opened the scoring early and Takeshi Hamada’s second half strike sealed it for the visitors in front of a paltry crowd of just 1700.

Roasso Kumamoto 0-3 Matsumoto Yamaga

Roasso were comprehensively brushed aside by away day specialists Matsumoto Yamaga. New Yamaga striker Rodrigo Cabeca put the away side one up at half time and second half goals from Tamabayashi & Shiozawa plunged Roasso deep into relegation trouble.

Gainare Tottori 1-1 Tokyo Verdy

Cometh Gainare’s hour of need, cometh Genki Nagasato. His 7th goal in 6 games canceled out Satoshi Tokiwa’s opener and earned Tottori a decent point.

Tochigi SC 1-1 Kataller Toyama

Speaking of decent points, that is exactly what Kataller got in Tochigi. Tetsuya Funatsu’s equalizer, allied with a true backs-to-the-wall performance, snared a valuable point for the away side.
