It is all about waiting now. FC Gifu Second did their job by beating Fujieda City Office last weekend to move top of the Tokai League. The only team that can overhaul them are Maruyasu Sports and they must win their final game, at home to Yazaki Valente, to finish top of the league. Maruyasu blew their first chance to seal the league, losing 2-0 at home to Toyota. Will they get the result they require on Sunday?

Last weekend’s results:

  • Fujieda City Office 1-2 FC Gifu Second
  • FC Kariya 4-1 Toyota Sports
  • Yazaki Valente 3-2 Suzuka Rampole

This is how the table looks going into the final games:

P W D L F A Pts GD
FC Gifu Second 14 9 0 5 28 16 27 12
FC Kariya 14 8 1 5 35 21 25 14
Maruyasu 13 8 1 4 22 15 25 7
Azul Claro Numazu 14 8 1 5 20 21 25 -1
Toyota Sports 14 7 1 6 29 26 22 3
Suzuka Rampole 13 6 2 5 21 20 20 1
Yazaki Valente 13 3 0 10 14 37 9 -23
Fujieda City Office 13 2 0 11 13 26 6 -13

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for the Seconds, but even if Maruyasu win their game, and win the league, FC Gifu Second can look back on this season with a lot of pride.
