Take a bow, Junki!

If you haven’t seen FC Gifu youngster Junki Endo’s first ever J.League goal, here it is:

A fantastic strike from the ex-FC Gifu Second player. He has been eased into first team action, getting a start here and there, a substitute appearance here and there. In the game against Yokohama FC (which Gifu won) he came on and his job was to relieve some of the pressure on the defence. But it looked as if he was trying too hard and often gave the ball away while trying to do too much. However, he will be given some slack by supporters because he is young, willing and local – and we Gifu supporters love to have local heroes to cheer on.

Now, hopefully, he can kick on from here. His former Seconds strike partner Tomohiro Tanaka also got his first goal of the season earlier on, but he hasn’t (for some reason) been selected so much recently. Here’s hoping Junki can.
