Tokushima Vortis 1-0 FC Gifu

FC Gifu lost their second consecutive away game of 2015 as they lost 1-0 in a scrappy game in Tokushima.

FC Gifu starting XI:

Kawaguchi

Masuyama   Takagi   Abe   Fuji

Henik   Miyazawa

Kiyomoto   Takachi   Leo Mineiro

Namba

The headline from this starting selection was the absence of captain Yuki Fukaya and it was young CB Masanori Abe who replaced him. On the bench Brazilian Rodrigo & Yuto Ono made their first appearances in the matchday squad.

This game was nothing to write home about really, as both teams looked a little short on confidence. Gifu could’ve taken the lead in the first half, but Hiroaki Namba’s shot was inadvertently blocked by Takumi Kiyomoto. Kazumichi Takagi also had a header saved but that was the extent of the first half action.

As the game wore on, Tokushima’s Estiven started to become more influential while for Gifu, Rodrigo came off the bench to make his full debut. The new Brazilian showed some nice touches linking up with Namba but unfortunately Gifu couldn’t find a goal and they were undone in the 83rd minute when Vortis midfielder Yuji Kimura‘s creeped past Kawaguchi and went in off the post.
