So, the rumours (to an extent) were true as yesterday FC Gifu announced the signing of ex-Jubilo Iwata and Ventforet Kofu forward Gilsinho – subject to a medical (very important that!)

Assuming his registration comes through in time, and we should know by Thursday/Friday of this week, he will be ready to make his debut in the very important Saturday night clash with Roasso Kumamoto. Hopefully Gilsinho can take some of the goalscoring burden off Hiroaki Namba (who himself is going through a bit of a lean spell by his standards). It is a gamble from the club, but hopefully one that will pay-off.
